Product Description
The white mulberry is one of the sweetest varieties, (no tartness). The fruit is actually purple on this variety, but it is considered morus alba. The mother tree grew naturally from seed in our backyard in Modesto California, (Most likely the seed was brought by birds or the wind). Morus alba, sometimes referred to as the white mulberry, common mulberry, and silkworm mulberry, this variety I’m selling produces purple berries. Morus Alba is a small to medium-sized mulberry tree that can reach heights of 10 to 20 meters (33 to 66 feet). Do not plant close to a house as they grow fast and will get too big without proper pruning. The mulberry trees have very dense and strong roots that will rob most other tree roots off their nutrients, especially if the other plants or trees are in pots, the mulberry tree roots will get up into the pot, constrict the roots of the host and take over. Leave a space of at least 10 feet to prevent that problem.
