Product Description

Erythrina americana, also known as the coral tree, colorines, colorin, or pemoches, is a species of flowering plant that is indigenous to Mexico. Erythrina americana, often known as Tzompmitl, is a species of tree with the common name colorin (plural colorines).
The colorines plant, also known as coral, zompantle, cuchillitos (small knives), or machetitos (little machetes), has lovely red flowers that each resemble little machetes. Its beautiful red blossoms attract hummingbirds that suck their flower nectar. This species blooms in many areas during the dry season (April), and it can grow as high as five meters in some cases. This tree is widely used as fence posts because the large cuttings root easily.
Caution: keep the tree away from children as the seeds, bark and leaves are toxic when ingested.
