Yamaha Agriculture operates as a standalone unit within Yamaha Motor, focusing on technology for specialty crop production. This division supports farmers who grow crops like grapes, apples, and citrus—sectors that require intensive manual labor for pruning, spraying, and harvesting.

Building on decades of experience with aerial crop-spraying helicopters like the RMAX and FAZER, Yamaha now brings its expertise to ground-based automation and AI-driven decision tools through this dedicated agricultural branch.

Why Yamaha Entered the AgTech Sector

Yamaha identified a key opportunity to address widespread labor shortages. In 2023 alone, specialty crop growers spent over $16 billion on labor. Most of that went toward repetitive, time-consuming fieldwork.

To meet this need, Yamaha Agriculture is investing in autonomous machinery and data solutions that help growers reduce dependence on manual labor, increase operational consistency, and improve safety. Instead of viewing technology as a replacement for the workforce, Yamaha aims to complement human efforts and reduce risk in the field.

Together, these technologies allow Yamaha Agriculture to offer a tightly integrated system combining physical automation with data intelligence.
