How is Farm Trader Different?

Farm Trader is more than just an online store—it’s a full-service agricultural ecosystem. You can sell products, list services, advertise events, and even post equipment or land for sale.

Unlike traditional platforms:

  • We actively market your listings using Google ads, social media, and email campaigns

  • You get a customizable farm profile to tell your story

  • We charge no commission—you keep 100% of your proceeds

  • A small processing fee (7% incudes credit car processing) is passed to the buyer

Our goal is to elevate your visibility and simplify the selling process.


Why is There a Subscription Fee?

After your first year free, Farm Trader costs:

  • $10/month or

  • $100/year (save 20%)

This fee supports ongoing marketing and outreach efforts to drive customers to your listings and expand your digital presence.


Can I List Artisanal or Handmade Goods?

Yes! While our primary focus is farm-related products, we proudly support small businesses and encourage vendors to list:

  • Handmade soaps and skincare

  • Candles and wood carvings

  • Finished artisan goods of all kinds

If you’re creating something with care and intention, there’s a place for it on Farm Trader.


What is Stripe?

Stripe is the secure payment processor we use to handle online transactions. Once you connect your Stripe account, customers can pay through the site and you’ll receive your funds immediately after a sale.


Do I Need to Ship Products to Use Farm Trader?

No. Shipping is optional. You can let customers:

  • Pick up at your farm

  • Meet you at a farmers market

  • Use any custom pickup point you choose

You can tailor pickup options per product.


Do I Have to Accept Online Payments?

No. You can list products for cash-only pickup or enable online checkout via Stripe. The choice is yours—use what fits best for your farm.


Can I Promote Events on Farm Trader?

Yes! You can list events like:

  • Farm tours

  • Workshops

  • CSA pickups

  • Seasonal celebrations

We’ll promote them alongside your products to drive engagement and attendance.


How Does Selling Work?

Once you’ve set up your Stripe account (if using), simply:

  1. Log in

  2. Go to your Vendor Dashboard

  3. Start listing products, services, or events

We handle payment processing, taxes, and promotion. You focus on your farm—we’ll handle the rest.


Do I Have to Be a Professional Farmer?

No. Farm Trader is for:

  • Backyard growers

  • Homesteaders

  • Hobbyists

  • Commercial farms

  • Food hubs and cooperatives
